He was accompanied by his brother William and his family who were destined for Imperial Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. He sailed from Mobile, Alabama to the Mississippi River and up to a point where they disembarked and journeyed to Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. He served in the Confederate Army in the War Between the States. His occupation was a farmer. He died October 12, 1876. He was buried in Volentine Cemetery near Holum, Louisiana.
